Abstract
In this work morphological variability of birches in the republic of Karelia and Tverskaya region is investigated. The continuos variability of the investigated morphological characteristics of the leaf blade and female inflorescences suggests that intensive hybridization probably takes place and also doesn't let us determine the species properties of investigated birches.
