Abstract

In contrast to B.M.Mirkin and L.G.Naumova views on "econiche" of comparative floristics in the system of vegetation sciences the author considers comparative floristics as a modern approach that can accumulate many ideas of related disciplines, in particular phytocoenology. This process is accompanied by intense competition of different scientific schools, that can be exemplified by Mirkin and Naumova paper. Comparative floristics does not replace phytocoenology having its own purposes. Adherents of this approach can determine themselves the ideas and the place or "econiche" of comparative floristics in the system of the current science about vegetation.
