Abstract
Vishera State Reserve is situated on the Western slope of Northern Ural Mts., in the Upper Course of Vishera River, on 60° 45'-61° 37'N; 58° 40'-59° 20'E; its territory covers 2410 sq. km. Elevations are ranging from 240 in the Valley of Vishera River up to 1469 m on Tulym Range. 270 species and 4 varieties have been found now in the reserve. Its annotated list and essay of general vegetation are given. In the reserve many species are found on their southern limit of distribution within Urals (Andreaea nivalis, Brachythecium coruscum, B. turgidum, Campylium halleri, Cinclidium stygium, Cirriphyllum cirrosum, Coscinodon cribrosus, Fissidens osmundoides, Hydrogrimmia mollis, Hygrohypnum cochlearifolium, Hypnum recurvatum, Limprichtia revolvens, Orthothecium strictum, Paraleucobryum enerve, Pogonatum dentatum, Pohlia drummondii, P. filum, Sarmentypnum sarmentosum, Scleropodium ornellanum, Timmia austriaca, T. comata, Warnstorfia tundrae). However, many southern calcicolous species also are growing here due to extensive limestone outcrops (Anomodon attenuatus, A. longifolius, A. viticulosus, Eucladium verticillatum, Homalia trichomanoides, Leskea polycarpa, Leucodon sciuroides, Orthotrichum anomalum, Plagiomnium rostratum, Seligeria donniana, Taxiphyllum wissgrillii, Trichostomum crispulum). Three East Asian species occur in the reserve on their western limit: Hypnum plicatulum, Iwatsukiella leucotricha, Plagiomnium confertidens; while only one European species, Neckera complanata, is here on its Eastern limit.
