Corticioid fungi of the Republic of Karelia were studied. 128 species from 49 genera have been found on this territory. The annotated list of species is presented.

Prokhorov V. P. Discomycetes of Central Chernozem Biosphere Reserve. I. Species from the order Pezizales // Mycol. and phytopat. V. 34, N 5, 2000. P.26-30.

Abstract

An annotated list of discomycetes from the order Pezizales includes 44 taxa (42 species and 2 varieties) belonging to 8 families. These fungi were collected from rotten wood, soil, plant debris and excrements of some herbivorous animals. This is the first relatively complete list of discomycetes found on the territory of Central Chernozem Reserve (Kursk region).

Abstract

An annotated list presented in the article contains data on discomycetes species collected during the period from April to October 1999 in Central Chernozem Reserve (Kursk region). The list includes 63 taxa (61 species and 1 variety) that belong to the orders Ostropales and Leotiales. The latter group is composed by members from 4 families. 107 taxa of discomycetes including members of the order Pezizales have been registered for the territory of the Reserve.

Abstract

The article gives a review of the influence of the selenium compounds on the accumulation of biomass and synthesis of the secondary (metabolites during the growth of the vegetative mycelium of Penicillium chrysogenum (isolates 19), P. nigricans (isolates in), Acremonium jiusidioides (isolates 108) on the liquid medium. The stimulational influence of low concentrations of compounds on these aspects of vital functions of mentioned kinds is found.

Abstract

The article gives a review of results of research dealt with influence of non-organic compounds of selenium on the growth and the development of macromycetes from different taxonomical groups. Influence of these compounds in the low concentration on the speed of growth was found. Accumulation of biomass and fruitification of various kinds of macromycetes were studied. Correlation of mycelium growth rate and reaction of these isolates on the addition of selenium in to nutrients.

PHYTOPATHOGENIC FUNGI

Ivanjuk V. G., Aleksandrov O. T. Pecularities of the rhizoctoniosis of potatoes appearance in Belorussia // Mycol. and phytopat. V. 34, N 5, 2000. P.51-59.

Abstract

We present the results of study of the role of soil and tuber infection in potato by the fungus Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn. It was ascertained that the threshold value of the degree of tuber colonization by the fungus sclerotium compiles 5 % within the pathogen presence in 35.4 % of tubers and of soil colonization Ô 1 propagule per 100 gr. It was established that rhizoctoniose development in potato depends on density of planting, tubers bulk and value of the degree of colonization of R. solani. To improve phythopathological situation with regards to potatoes it is necessary to sow as a predecessor cereals, perennial grasses, winter rape and flax that will significantly inhibit R. solani development in soil and plants.

Abstract

The method for estimating pathogenicity of fungi from the genus Botrytis was developed. The variability of pathogenicity of specialized species of Botrytis and isolates of less specialized species B.cinerea on wild and cultured plants was estimated and compared. The increase in spores concentration in suspension which was used for leaves inoculation intensified the level of contamination with specialized species (B. convallariae, B. peoniae, B. tulipae) and unspecialized one (B. cinerea) as well.

The groups of isolates in B. cinerea population on cultured strawberry were determined with cluster analysis method. These groups differed in the degree of pathogenicity on 5 testers and the latent period.

Abstract

Determination of the effect of Mastigosporium muticum on biochemical properties of leaves of cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata L.) was done in the chemical laboratory of St.-Petersburg State Agrarian University. Data of analysis associated to seed's production and quality of this forage crop. Quantity of chlorophyll a, b-carotene, protein, phosphorus, fats were decreased under increasing the level of disease, and share of dry matter and water-soluble carbohydrates were increased. These changes accompanied by decreasing of seed's production and feed quality of the plant.
